Long Description: Line 1 is between the CapTel user and the other party. Line 2 is between the CapTel user and the Captioning Service. The CapTel User talks to the other party (on line 1) who talks back for the CapTel User to hear. The phone routes everything the caller says to the captioning service (on line 2) which transcribes the caller's words into text that appears on the CapTel display.
