At its last agenda meeting, the FCC voted on two VoIP proceedings. Links to the public notices on each are listed below.

1. VoIP NPRM - The FCC has adopted (but not yet released) a notice of proposed rulemaking to determine appropriate regulatory requirements for the carriage of voice communications over the Internet. Among other things, the FCC will be looking at the extent to which providers of these VoIP services should be required to meet disability access mandates.

FCC MOVES TO ALLOW MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONSUMERS THROUGH VOICE SERVICES OVER THE INTERNET. The FCC initiated a major proceeding to examine opportunities that allow consumers greater choices created by

2. Pulver Petition - The FCC granted Pulver's petition (filed in 2003) not to classify its VoIP service as a telecommunications service. This means that this IP service will not be subject to traditional telecommunications regulation.

FCC RULES THAT PULVER.COM'S FREE WORLD DIALUP SERVICE SHOULD REMAIN FREE FROM UNNECESSARY REGULATION. In separate action FCC adopts broad inquiry into Internet Protocol-enabled services. News Release. Adopted:
