HAC/VC* and
Wireless Phones

• HAC/VC stands for Hearing Aid Compatible/ Volume Control

• HAC/VC requirements come under the authority of the Hearing Aid Compatibility Act of 1988, but they do not apply to wireless telephones

• Many digital wireless phones produce a magnetic field; however, they will not be labeled as HAC

• Most digital wireless phones have volume control
