RERC on Telecommunications Access: Research at Gallaudet
Project R1: Telecommunication Access Survey of Hard of Hearing Consumers
Telephone communication is a central part of our daily lives, yet one day-to-day consequence of hearing loss is the difficulty experienced using the telephone. The Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Telecommunications Access is conducting a survey of the experiences of individuals with hearing loss in their use of voice telecommunications technology.
Our goal is to use responses from the survey to help define the current state of voice telecommunications access for individuals with hearing loss and to assess the type and level of their telecommunications needs. The survey will include questions about the use of telecommunications products in employment and daily life, the nature of the problems faced in using these technologies, and how individuals have attempted to resolve the problems.
Our survey software will be powered by SurveyGizmo.
