Of all the devices tested, the strobe is the least effective means of awakening subjects.

Subjects who awakened to alarm presentations tended to do so within the first 30 seconds. Awakening potential dropped significantly after 30 seconds.

Sleep stage does not play a statistically significant role in waking effectiveness of the tested devices. Nonetheless, the data trend suggests Delta is slightly more difficult to awaken from.
