Under Title IV of the ADA, states may receive certification to operate their own relay programs so long as they receive
certification to do so from the FCC. Generally, the FCC grants certification to states in 5-year increments. This year and last
many of these certifications expired, and states have been refiling applications for new certifications to continue providing
relay services. The following is a notice about 12 applications filed for state certification of TRS. As you can see, comments
are due on February 17, 2003, and reply comments are due on March 3, 2003.
