2. Homeland Security Summit - On March 25, 2004, the FCC held a conference to explore ways to ensure that people with disabilities have access to critical information in the event of an emergency. The following are the remarks that FCC Chairman Powell made at the conclusion of the day's events.

3. Requests for Exemptions from Closed Captioning Rules - Covenant International Church and Lifepoints Ministries have applied for exemptions from the FCC's captioning mandates (first 2 items below). Evangelistic Outreach Ministries has withdrawn its request for a captioning exemption (third item below).
