Matching Digital Cell Phones
to Hearing Aids
Some results:
Telecoil users were able to inductively couple to all digital cell phones and hear some level of the intended speech.
However, for all telecoil users, interference either prevented phone use or limited the digital cell phones usability compared to analog cell or wireline phones
Although accessories permitted interference free digital cell phone use, they were preferred by only 1 of the 6 telecoil users
Both mic and telecoil users experienced less interference with CDMA technology than GSM technology
Analog technology/phones were strongly preferred by the telecoil users, but not the mic users
