Hearing Aid Compatibility Act of 1988 - Wireless Access

Provisional exemption for “mobile” phones – FCC directed to review periodically and revoke if:

• • No longer in the public interest

  • Would have an adverse effect on people with hearing disabilities

  • Compliance would be technologically feasible

  • Compliance would not increase costs to point where wireless phones could not be marketed successfully
