• Some TTYs are defaulted to pulse dialing, although offering both pulse and DTMF. Some users leave it on pulse because they are unaware of faster DTMF dialing.

• “Y” based telephone with both phone and direct-connect TTY on one line do not always produce DTMF at adequate signal strength because of excessive load.
