• • Currently it is not possible to call into 9-1-1 from many VoIP services

  • But this was seen as unacceptable by many for mainstream and actions are being taken to address this for all VoIP users.

  • So this will be solved soon

TEXT

• • Currently there is no way to text into emergency services, except TTY and that is by government order.

  • But TTY is falling into disuse as IP is growing and IP-based relay services are growing.

  • Hopefully, the VoIP solutions will allow IP-relay services to eventually connect to 9-1-1

  • Still have IPtext standardization issues (more in a bit)

SIGN

• • Video Relay services have the same problem as IP-Relay and VoIP.

  • Again  -- hopefully these will all be addressed together.
